Aaron and Banai, from Demonology 101 (one of only two pics I drew during Christmas break. Oh, I was a lazy one). During zee "End Times" they will walk across the Earth telling the word of God with the power of God at their command ... and eventually are killed, and their bodies lie in the streets for seven days. Entirely depressing, right? Well, it's in Revelation. Look it up.

I did a lot of backstory for these two, despite the fact that they're only in D101 for a handful of pages. Back when I was a kid I was kind of fascinated by the book of Revelation, mostly because it's probably the biggest, most elaborate fight scene you'll find in the Bible ... and it has awesome imagry and allegory, all of which you can pretty much interpret however you'd like. The Two Witnesses (never referred to by name, but I think were both male) always interested me. They seemed to get such a bum job: incredible personal power for a tiny period of time, only to get killed for their faith. Or ... well, abandoned by God, it seemed to me. Rather tragic figures.

When I decided to put them into D101 as characters, I thought it would be entertaining if they were both from different times. So Aaron is sort of old world, from some distant past, emotional and honorable, and Banai is from the "now," keeping up with trashy fashions and remembering emotion only a something she once felt and now can't really understand anymore. It's my opinion that they were both once human, but now exist out of time, never aging, just waiting for the time when they are called to witness in God's name.

Anyway, I like them. They're kind of freakish and entertaining, and I always hated the idea of angels in D101 (you only ever see a couple of dead ones in 700 or so pages, during Raven's vision in Episode 5), so thought Aaron and Banai were a good representation of the other side of things.
