This one is curious. On one level, maybe it's just a silly parody of those advertisements that use a female body to sell their product... so much to the point that you end up confused over what the product is, but you sure see a lot of T & A.
... on another level, the girl is drowning. It's like she's being forced to stand in that way, and wear what they tell her to, as the water creeps up to her neck.
It bothers me. It makes me want to do a whole series of similar drawings, and plaster the gallery walls with them.
Wow... I didn't think of it as a tear until I read the above comment, then I looked back and it changed my perspective entirely. The tear really hammers home your second point, and sort of gives the viewer a feeling of guilt when they notice it, since it's most likely the *last* thing they notice. Like she's drowning...But no one's trying to help her. Hope I'm making sense here.
Ooo, MORE GREEN HAIR!
I like this, and the whole thing you were trying to send. Like the tear really makes you think more about it than just "oh, nice body." Or at least that's what I wondered. Like why the hell she was crying. Hm, but then again I'm weird and I tend to ask more different kinds of questions than others. ^_~ Peace!
No matter what level this picture is on, it's beautiful work. And both levels are kind of tragic, too, if you really think about it. Stupid advertising companies and their love for using women's bodies.
I would love to see this as a series. I've seen all of your artwork, read your comic and everything, and I just love your art no matter what and this kind of message would just be awesome to view.
And if you decide not to go with a series on this one, that's fine too. I still love this one as it stands now.
I'm such a sucker for small details.
